Redding, CA is Shasta County’s largest city with a population of approximately 95,000. Surrounded by snowcapped mountains and just a few miles from Lake Shasta. Golf Courses
There are eight golf courses in Redding, five of which are public and three are private. Gold Hills is the only 18 hole public golf course with Tierra Oaks and Riverview Country club both being private 18 hole courses. There are five nine hole golf courses, four of them are public (Churn Creek, Tucker Oaks, Allen’s Golf Course, and Lake Redding) the other nine hole course River Bend is semi-private. Trails
Redding has hundreds of miles of walking, hiking and biking trails. Many of the trails are connected to the Sacramento River trail. You can walk or ride your bike from the Water Towers on Hilltop Dr across the Sundail Bridge all the way to cross the Shasta Lake Dam. Fishing
The Sacramento River runs through the center of Redding and offers some of the best Fly Fishing in Northern Califiornia. With the Shasta Lake and Whiskeytown lake only a few miles from Redding there are plenty of opportunities for every type of Fisherman.
Snow Skiing
Just 60 Miles north of Redding is the Mount Shasta Ski Park. The ski park offers snow skiing and snowboarding with over 32 trails and 425 acres of skiable terrain. If you are into cross country skiing, sledding, snowshowing, or snowmobiling you can head up to Lassen National Forest and the “Eskimo Hill” area located about 45 east on Hwy 44.
